Giovan Paolo Parisio

Beside Gravina, Giovan Paolo Parisio (1470 -1522) from Cosenza imposed himself as an enlighted humanist and a more ingenious critic of his age. He was called PARRASIO and was the founder and animator, together with Telesio, of the academy of Cosenza. From the chairs of eloquence that he kept for many years in Rome and Milan, he spread the refined taste of classicity and beauty. Almost all of his thought is condensed into his Epistles that were collected in "De Rebus per Epistulam Quaesitis".
